How do we listen to each other? How do we show respect to those we may disagree with?
Assessment of Learning
Small- and whole-group discussion; signaling; monitoring students’ progress during activities; observing students’ online forum conversations; plenary questioning at the end of classes.
Arts/Technology Integration Strategy
Videos and Powerpoint slides will be shown. The Face to Faith website will be introduced. Students will design logos for our FTF project as well as a respect "word cloud."
Learning Plan for the week
Hook: What is respect? What does it look like, feel like, and sound like?
Direct Instruction: Teacher will give instructions for and model how to do all activities, lead group discussion, and present statistics on other religions and cultures.
Guided Practice: Students will work in groups to discuss concepts (think-pair-share) and work in teams to identify elements of respect and faith.
Independent Practice: Students will construct circle maps, complete warm-ups, exit tickets, and other individual assignments. They will post in the online forums and comment on one another’s blogs.
Closure: Students will create logos for our school's faith to faith project, representing the important values of faith, respect, and listening. Students will also be introduced to the FTF website and use it to respond to a prompt.
