Desired Outcomes
Objectives:
Evaluate personal interests and skills and relate them to possible careers
Research careers of interest and evaluate one's aptitudes for them
Essential Questions: How do art and technology influence culture?
What do you want to do when you are older? How are you going to get there? What skills and interests do you have?
Assessment of Learning
Small- and whole-group discussion; warm-ups, exit tickets, and completion of assignments.
Arts/Technology Integration Strategy
Videos and Powerpoint slides will be shown. Students will take interest surveys and research careers online.
Learning Plan for the Week
Hook: What are your interests? Do they relate to possible careers for you?
Direct Instruction: The teacher will provide instructions on how to complete the assignments and guidelines for research.
Guided Practice: Teacher will model how to fill out the various surveys and use the website and give students prompts.
Independent Practice: Students will individually complete the surveys and career research and will evaluate how well suited they feel to each career.
Closure: Which career are you most interested in, and which do you think best matches your skills? Students will share what they've learned with the class.
Materials/Resources: Handouts will be provided. Students must have notebooks, something to write with, and their folder/binder for this class EVERY DAY.
