Desired Outcomes
Objectives:
Explain how leaders from different cultures have stood up for human rights
Essential Questions: How do art and technology communicate relationship?
What are human rights? How do we stand up for them?
Assessment of Learning
Questions and reflection on a film (Gandhi).
Arts/Technology Integration Strategy
A film (based on a true story) will be shown, which students will reflect on.
Learning Plan for the Week
Hook: What have other civil rights leaders done, outside of America?
Direct Instruction: Teacher will provide brief direct instruction about Gandhi.
Guided Practice: Students will continue to work in groups to compare different religions' views on different issues.
Independent Practice: Students will individually complete questions about the film clips and post in the online forums.
Closure: Students will watch a film about Gandi to conclude our discussion on civil rights leaders.
Materials/Resources: Handouts will be provided. Computer lab time will be scheduled for use of the class website.
